About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Finance to lead the finance function for a rapidly scaling, offline-heavy business with complex operations. The ideal candidate brings deep financial stewardship, strong operational rigor, and experience running finance for asset-intensive, multi-entity, or project-based environments.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for financial planning, controllership, cashflow discipline, treasury management, and enabling the company to scale sustainably.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Capital Planning

  • Lead long-term financial planning for an asset-heavy model, including capital allocation, depreciation cycles, and ROI analysis.
  • Build frameworks for capex planning, optimization, and project feasibility.
  • Partner with leadership on investment models, payback periods, and expansion planning.


2. Cashflow, Treasury & Working Capital

  • Drive strong cashflow forecasting, liquidity planning, and treasury management.
  • Build mechanisms to tightly manage receivables, payables, inventory, and capex disbursements.
  • Ensure financial readiness for scale, including efficient banking relationships.


3. Controllership, Governance & Compliance

  • Own the complete controllership agenda — books closure, audits (internal & statutory), policies, and financial discipline.
  • Ensure compliance across GST, TDS, ROC, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and adherence to processes.


4. FP&A, Budgeting & Performance Management

  • Lead annual operating plans, budgeting cycles, and monthly business performance reviews.
  • Build dashboards and MIS that provide visibility on unit economics, asset returns, project profitability, and cost structures.
  • Partner with business teams for forecasting, scenario modelling, and financial insights.


5. Multi-Entity / Project-Based Finance

  • Manage consolidated financials for multiple entities, SPVs, or project streams.
  • Set up governance, allocation methodologies, and financial reporting at project level.
  • Ensure clarity in inter-company transactions, cost accounting, and shared services.


6. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with operations, supply chain, and business heads to enable expansion and efficiency.
  • Build and mentor a high-quality finance team and institutionalize best-in-class processes.


What We’re Looking For

  • CA with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong experience in offline-heavy, operationally complex, or asset-intensive businesses (e.g., retail, healthcare, education, manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, F&B, or infrastructure-lite models).
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Capital planning & depreciation cycles
  • Asset-heavy P&L structures
  • Cashflow & treasury
  • Multi-entity consolidation
  • Project-based accounting
  • Strong fundamentals across controllership, FP&A, compliance, and financial processes.
  • Ability to operate both at strategic and execution levels — “hands-on, structured, and insight-driven.”
  • High ownership, first-principles thinking, and comfort with fast-learning environments.
