Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Azure SQL and cloud database services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of both on-premise and cloud-based SQL Server environments. You will play a key role in migrating databases to Azure, optimizing performance, and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and support SQL Server 2016–2022 and Azure SQL Database environments.
• Design and implement high availability, disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies using AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Azure-native solutions.
• Plan and execute SQL Server migrations to Azure, including assessments, testing, and validation.
• Monitor and optimize system performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and Azure Monitor.
• Implement and maintain security policies, including role-based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance with data governance standards.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure Automation.
• Manage backup strategies using native tools and third-party solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Application, and Infrastructure teams to deliver efficient database solutions.
• Provide 24/7 support for production databases on a rotation basis, including performance tuning and incident resolution.
• Document database architecture, procedures, and environment changes.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Managed Instances, or SQL Database on Azure VMs.
• Strong understanding of T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Redgate, SolarWinds, or native Azure monitoring.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for database maintenance.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management.
