Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Teradata Database Administrator (DBA) with 3-5 years of experience in performance monitoring and optimization to join our team.

As a Teradata DBA specializing in performance monitoring, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our Teradata databases.

Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving performance issues, optimizing queries, and maintaining high availability of our database systems.

Responsibilities :

- Monitor and analyze Teradata database performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

- Implement performance tuning strategies to optimize SQL queries, database objects, and system configurations.

- Work closely with developers, data architects, and business users to understand database requirements and performance goals.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, including query bottlenecks, indexing problems, and resource contention.

- Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to support future growth and workload requirements.

- Implement and maintain database monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify performance degradation and system failures.

- Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, performance tuning, and best practices.

- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure optimal database server configurations and resource allocation.

- Provide on-call support and participate in root cause analysis for database-related Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 3-5 years of experience as a Teradata Database Administrator or similar role, focusing on performance monitoring and optimization.

- Strong proficiency in Teradata database administration, including performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

- Experience with Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPump, and TPT.

- Knowledge of Teradata indexing strategies, partitioning, and database security best practices.

- Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages for automation and troubleshooting.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Teradata certification (e.g, Teradata Certified Database Administrator).

- Experience with Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU) and Teradata Viewpoint.

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and their database services (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP)
