About the Role

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our growing design and strategy team. This role sits at the core of our communication efforts transforming complex data, research findings, and political insights into compelling visual stories.

Information Design at Varahe is not just about aesthetics; it is about clarity, impact, and precision. From simplifying dense government reports into actionable presentations, to creating infographics that distill voter behavior, your work will inform campaign strategies and influence key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Visualization: Translate complex datasets, research, and policy information into clear, engaging, and actionable visuals to design reports, books, brochures, infographics, decks, reports, etc. tailored for diverse audiences.
• Data Storytelling: Craft narrative-driven outputs that combine quantitative data with qualitative insights to tell powerful stories.
• Research & Structure: Collaborate with researchers and field teams to gather, analyze, and structure information for optimal visual representation.
• Presentation Design: Develop high-impact presentations for internal use, client meetings, and high-level political briefings.
• Design Systems: Contribute to and uphold visual identity systems to ensure brand and design consistency across all materials.
• UX Thinking: Apply user-centered design principles to enhance clarity, engagement, and accessibility of visual outputs.
• Team Collaboration: Mentor junior designers, provide creative direction, and work closely with strategists, data analysts, and field experts.
• Innovation & Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques in information design, data visualization, and storytelling.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–3 years of professional experience in information design, visual communication, or data visualization.
• Strong command of visual design tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Figma, and/or Adobe XD.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complex ideas through design and visual logic.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience designing compelling presentations using Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote.
• Familiarity with UX/UI principles and experience with user-centric design processes.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Exposure to political, policy, development sector, or research-driven projects is a plus.
