Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture design, and application modernization strategies. This role requires hands-on experience with enterprise-scale cloud deployments and the ability to drive digital transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions
• Experience with enterprise-level cloud migrations and modernization projects

Certifications

• AWS Professional-level certification required, such as:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Preferred)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
• Additional AWS certifications are a plus

Technical Skills

• Core AWS Services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS
• CI/CD Pipelines: Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub CI/CD
• Monitoring & Logging: CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana
• Networking: VPC design, security groups, load balancers, API Gateway
• Security: AWS Security best practices, encryption, compliance frameworks
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell

Cloud Architecture

• Design and implement well-architected cloud solutions following AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Multi-account AWS Organizations setup and governance
• Hybrid cloud connectivity and integration patterns
• Cost optimization strategies and FinOps practices
• High availability and disaster recovery planning

Application Modernization

• Legacy application assessment and modernization strategy development
• Microservices architecture design and implementation
• Serverless computing with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven architectures
• Database modernization including migration from on-premises to AWS RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB
• Containerization strategies for legacy applications
• DevOps transformation and automation implementation

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud architectures
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
• Create and maintain architectural documentation and best practices
• Evaluate new AWS services and technologies for potential adoption

Modernization Leadership

• Lead application modernization initiatives from assessment through implementation
• Develop migration strategies for legacy applications to cloud-native architectures
• Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code practices

Implementation & Operations

• Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using automation tools
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization
• Ensure security compliance and implement best practices
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with development teams to enable cloud adoption
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the organization
• Participate in architecture review boards and technical decision-making
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to policies

Preferred Experience

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Background in enterprise application modernization projects
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.)
• Experience with big data and analytics services (EMR, Redshift, Kinesis)
• Machine learning and AI services experience (SageMaker, Bedrock)
• Previous consulting or customer-facing experience
