Principal Automation

Position Summary: As a Principal, ERP Integration & Automation, you will serve as a strategic advisor and technical expert, leading the design, development, and scaling of our enterprise automation strategy. This role requires deep expertise in NetSuite as a core ERP, complex system integrations, and modern automation platforms like Workato. You will engage with executive stakeholders to define an automation roadmap, drive business transformation by connecting systems and automating processes, and leverage AI features to enhance efficiency. You will lead automation projects, set best practices for integration and automation, and play a key role in influencing decision-making across the organization.Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Strategy & Business Transformation Engage with senior leadership and executive stakeholders to define and execute an enterprise integration and automation strategy that aligns with business goals, with NetSuite as the central ERP.Drive business transformation initiatives by leveraging the full capabilities of NetSuite combined with integration platforms (iPaaS) like Workato to optimize operations and scalability.Influence decision-making by providing data-driven insights and automation best practices.Manage internal stakeholder relationships at a strategic level, ensuring seamless adoption and long-term success of automated processes.Integration & Automation ArchitectureDesign and implement enterprise-level automation solutions, including complex integrations between NetSuite and other business-critical systems.Lead the development of a scalable and future-proof integration architecture using platforms like Workato, n8n, and native AI tools.Establish best practices for integration development, API management, security, and performance optimization.Automation Program Leadership & GovernanceLead and mentor a federated or centralized team of developers and citizen developers on automation and integration best practices.Oversee the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from ideation and requirements gathering to development, testing, and deployment.Develop and implement best practices for automation governance, error handling, and system monitoring.Monitor integration and automation performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or failures.Provide technical guidance and training to team members and business users, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and automation.Automation Project LeadershipLead cross-functional project teams through NetSuite implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.Oversee project planning, execution, and stakeholder communication, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.Set and enforce best practices for project management, development, and deployment.System & Automation Governance, Compliance & ReportingDefine and maintain integration and automation governance policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.Develop and manage reporting structures to monitor automation ROI, integration health, and data accuracy across systems.Ensure audit readiness by maintaining strong internal controls for automated processes and securing approvals from internal/external auditors.Training, Knowledge Sharing & InnovationLead training initiatives to enable citizen developers and maximize the value of automation tools across the organization.Stay up to date with advancements in NetSuite, Workato, AI, and the broader automation landscape by participating in training, conferences, and professional networks.Continuously assess and enhance automation capabilities to support evolving business needs, proactively identifying new opportunities for process improvement.Qualifications8+ years of relevant experience in a technical ERP or systems role, with a strong focus on integration and process automation.Proven, deep expertise in NetSuite ERP as a core system.Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.Extensive, hands-on experience with an enterprise iPaaS platform, with a strong preference for Workato.Experience with other automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Power Automate) or scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a strong plus.Familiarity with leveraging AI features within automation platforms or via API to enhance business processes.Strong understanding of NetSuite architecture, APIs (SuiteTalk, RESTlets), and data models.Proven track record of leading end-to-end integration and automation projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, customization, and post-go-live support.Strong understanding of core business processes (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report) and how they function within NetSuite.Expertise in data migration and data integrity strategies across multiple systems.Experience working in a global enterprise environment.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to train and mentor junior developers and business analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Workato certification (e.g., Automation Pro) is highly desired.NetSuite Certified ERP Consultant or NetSuite Administrator certification is a plus.Fluent in English (spoken and written).
