Roles & Responsibilities:
Active Directory Administration:
- Administer and manage Active Directory (AD) environments, including user and group management, access control, and directory services policies.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of AD services, including Global Catalog, Domain Controllers, and replication.
- Monitor and maintain Active Directory health and performance, including resolving replication issues and ensuring proper functioning of AD sites and services.
DNS & DHCP Management:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP services to ensure seamless name resolution and IP address allocation within the AD environment.
- Monitor DNS records, troubleshoot DNS issues, and ensure that DNS configurations are consistent across all network components.
- Administer and manage DHCP scopes, leases, and servers, ensuring efficient address allocation.
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Management:
- Administer and manage PKI infrastructure, including the deployment, management, and renewal of digital certificates.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external certificate policies and ensure the secure handling of certificates within the organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to certificate deployment and validation within the Active Directory environment.
- AD Connect & Azure Active Directory (AAD) Integration:
- Manage and configure Azure AD Connect to synchronize on-premises AD with Azure Active Directory (AAD).
- Ensure seamless hybrid identity management, including synchronization of user accounts, groups, and other directory objects between on-premises AD and Azure AD.
- Troubleshoot and resolve synchronization issues and manage the integration of identity and access management across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security policies across the Active Directory environment to ensure that sensitive data and access are protected.
- Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to control user and system settings across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and best practices related to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and cloud integrations.
Incident & Troubleshooting:
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and AAD integration-related issues.
- Address incidents related to authentication, access control, DNS resolution, and system outages.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Backup, Recovery & Documentation:
- Regularly back up Active Directory databases and system configurations, ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement and test disaster recovery plans for Active Directory and related services (DNS, DHCP, PKI).
- Maintain accurate documentation of Active Directory configurations, security policies, and troubleshooting steps. ·
User Support & Training:
- Provide user support for Active Directory-related issues, including password resets, group memberships, and user access requests.
- Educate end-users on best practices related to Active Directory, security, and authentication. Develop training materials and knowledge base articles to assist users and administrators.
Nutanix AHV Management:
- Deploy, manage, and optimize Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) for virtualized infrastructure.
Virtual Machine Management:
- Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs) and associated resources in the AHV environment, including storage, networking, and security.
Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Proactively monitor the AHV environment for performance, capacity, and availability, resolving issues as they arise and recommending optimizations.
Upgrades & Patches:
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to maintain security and stability of the Nutanix AHV hypervisor and underlying infrastructure. ·
Automation & Scripting:
- Leverage automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. ·
Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage disaster recovery plans, ensuring backups and recovery strategies are tested and executed effectively. ·
Collaboration with IT Teams:
- Work closely with network engineers, storage administrators, and system architects to ensure seamless integration of Nutanix AHV with other enterprise infrastructure components.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and best practices for AHV deployment and management.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and technical support to internal teams on Nutanix AHV best practices and troubleshooting methods.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another IT related field
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar Azure AD certifications.
- Microsoft Certified: Active Directory, Windows Server, or MCSA certifications.
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals or related certifications.
- CompTIA Security+ or related security certifications are a plus.
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP) certification.
- Hands-on experience with HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) solutions and the Nutanix platform.
Experience
- 7+ years’ Experience
- Proven experience in administering Active Directory (AD), including user management, group policies, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and PKI management.
- Expertise in managing and configuring Azure AD and Azure AD Connect for hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience in managing and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Active Directory security.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation of Active Directory and server management tasks.
- Experience with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Azure AD Join is a plus.
- Proven experience with Nutanix AHV, including installation, configuration, and management.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, or other hypervisors.
- Experience with Nutanix Prism and Acropolis management tools.
- Expertise in networking, storage, and security within virtualized environments.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python for infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with Nutanix AOS (Acropolis Operating System) and Nutanix Files.
- Experience with disaster recovery and high availability (HA) strategies in a virtualized infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues, including logs, alerts, and performance tuning.
