1. Position Overview

The Senior Project Architect (SPA) leads design, documentation, coordination, and delivery of architecture and interior projects. They oversee project teams, ensure design quality, manage timelines, and act as the primary technical authority between clients, consultants, and contractors.


2. Key Responsibilities


A. Design Leadership

  • Lead concept development, schematic design, and design detailing.
  • Review and refine design proposals prepared by Project Architects and junior team members.
  • Ensure design intent aligns with client goals, brand standards, and project constraints.

B. Project Management

  • Prepare and track project schedules, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Oversee resource allocation and team task assignments.
  • Conduct weekly internal project reviews.

C. Technical Expertise

  • Prepare and review working drawings, BOQs, specifications, and coordination sets.
  • Resolve technical issues during design and site execution.
  • Ensure drawings follow office standards, naming conventions, and quality benchmarks.

D. Client & Consultant Coordination

  • Lead client presentations and approvals.
  • Communicate with structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants.
  • Maintain clear documentation of decisions, RFIs, MOMs, and revisions.

E. Site & Execution Support

  • Conduct critical site visits to review execution quality and technical compliance.
  • Troubleshoot issues with contractors and site teams.
  • Approve major material samples and mock-ups.

F. Team Mentorship

  • Guide Project Architects, 3D visualizers, interns, and drafting staff.
  • Train the team on workflows, standards, and new technologies.
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on deliverables.

G. Administration & Reporting

  • Manage project budgets and billing checkpoints (if relevant).
  • Report project progress to the Principal Architect.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, organised, and archived properly.


3. Required Skills

  • Strong design sense and technical detailing.
  • Mastery in AutoCAD, Revit/SketchUp/Rhino (as per office workflow).
  • Excellent communication and coordination.
  • Leadership, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of local building codes, materials, and construction systems.

4. Experience Profile

  • 6–12+ years of relevant experience (depending on firm scale).
  • Proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end.
  • Experience in managing teams and leading multi-disciplinary coordination.
