Position Summary:

As a senior-level software engineer, you will lead the implementation of features for the Android Automotive OS platform and the Customer-facing aspects of our embedded Infotainment System. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the Android System and Framework.

  • Responsible for analyzing requirements and realizing functionality in the Android Automotive domain.
  • Developing various modules/components within the Android Automotive System.
  • Owning multiple components within the Android Automotive System.
  • Delivering software for integration.
  • Implementing test strategies and documenting results.
  • Conducting pre-integration testing and verification.
  • Ensuring requirement traceability and feature maturity.
  • Handling defect triaging and resolution.
  • Collaborating with other domains to resolve feature dependencies and defects.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members to ensure timely task completion.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Experience with software life-cycle methodologies and collaboration in an agile environment.
  • Mentoring skills for guiding junior team members.
  • Expertise in Android Framework, AOSP platform architecture, and related build system.
  • 8+ years of experience in modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
  • Strong programming skills in Java and C++.
  • Good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Expertise in IVI SYSTEM in various domains like Connectivity, Multimedia, VPA, EVS, Cluster rendering, ADAS, Navigation, Automotive HMI, and Vehicle HAL.
  • Knowledge of Android best practices for system robustness and stability.
  • Experience in writing UNIT test cases for Android modules.
  • Exposure to the Android build system and configuration tools like Git, Gtest, and SVN.

Good to have:

  • Strong communication and English skills.
  • Experience in Android Porting/Upgrading.
  • Knowledge of CDD and GAS documents.
  • Experience with Google Compliance Testing.
  • Understanding of Android Middleware components.
  • Familiarity with Testing Tools like CANOe.
  • Proficiency in Android tools and debugging techniques.
  • Automation experience with scripting languages like Shell or Python.

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 8 to 14 Years in Android Automotive System development.
