Job Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced SOC lead to join our team. This role involves hands-on involvement in daily SOC operations, strategic leadership in process improvement, and effective communication with senior management. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the SOC team, ensuring timely response to security incidents and alerts.
  • Manage existing Managed Security Operation's SIEM and EDR solutions for optimal performance in detecting and responding to security incidents.
  • Enhance MDR and Managed SIEM services, with a preference for IBM QRadar expertise.
  • Collaborate with SOC analysts and engineering team to implement SIEM rules, alerts, and correlation logic for improved threat detection.
  • Develop SOC strategies, policies, and procedures to strengthen the organization's security posture and incident response capabilities.
  • Monitor and analyze security events, ensuring prompt detection, investigation, and response to potential threats.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication on security incidents and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement of SOC processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting activities proactively to stay ahead of potential security threats.
  • Establish relationships with external partners and industry peers to stay informed on emerging threats and best practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of SOC processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and metrics on SOC performance, incident trends, and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on cybersecurity landscape, emerging threats, and industry standards to provide recommendations for proactive security measures.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in managing a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Expertise in MDR and Managed SIEM, with a preference for IBM QRadar experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations, incident response methodologies, and security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and security technologies.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple security incidents.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex security issues to various stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC are highly desirable.
