Job Overview:

As a Packaging Line Supervisor for our cosmetic Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO), you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the packaging operations of various cosmetic products.

You will lead a team of packaging line operators, ensuring adherence to quality standards, efficient production, and timely delivery.

This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized working environment.

Responsibilities:

Packaging Line Management:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the packaging line operators, ensuring efficient operation and optimal output on the packaging lines.


Quality Assurance:
Monitor packaging processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, product specifications, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular quality checks and address any issues or deviations promptly.

Team Leadership:
Provide guidance, training, and supervision to packaging line operators. Set performance expectations, assign tasks, and evaluate performance. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Production Scheduling:

Collaborate with production planning and scheduling teams to develop and implement production schedules for the packaging lines, ensuring timely delivery of finished goods.


Inventory Management:

Monitor packaging materials and supplies inventory levels, coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure availability and avoid stockouts.

Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety training sessions, promote safe work practices, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Identify and address packaging line issues, including equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or delays. Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for timely resolution.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to optimize packaging processes, improve productivity, and reduce waste. Implement lean manufacturing principles and participate in process improvement initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality checks, and any incidents or deviations. Generate reports on production output, downtime, and other key performance indicators.

Communication and Collaboration:
Liaise with cross-functional teams, including quality control, production, and warehouse, to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of activities. Communicate any production updates, issues, or delays to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a packaging line supervisor or team lead role within the cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging processes, equipment, and materials specific to the cosmetic industry.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance principles and regulatory requirements, such as FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities to address packaging line issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members, crossfunctional teams, and management.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for production scheduling, data entry, and reporting.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production demands.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
