Role Summary

The Data Visualization Developer will be responsible for building data models, developing dashboards, creating KPI widgets, and aggregating data from multiple sources. The ideal candidate will have robust SQL skills, experience in designing semantic layers, and a deep understanding of data visualization principles. This role also involves BI tool administration and ensuring data visualization standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Superset, Sisense, and other visualization tools.
  • Build data models and semantic layers to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Create and maintain KPI widgets and aggregate data from multiple sources.
  • Write complex SQL queries, develop stored procedures, and automate data workflows.
  • Analyze data and provide solution options for data consumption across various personas.
  • Administer BI tools and manage security functions as designated.
  • Ensure data visualization standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Evaluate new visualization tools and perform research on best practices.
  • Bring expert knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques to drive business analytics and semantic data access requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Visualization Developer or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Superset and Sisense is mandatory.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and automation.
  • Experience in building data models and designing semantic layers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles, best practices, and tools.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights for different business personas.
  • Proficiency in BI tool administration and security management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.

Preferred/Good to have skills

  • Advanced degree in Data Science or a related field.
  • Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or R.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in data analysis and visualization.
