Role SummaryThe candidate will be responsible for the production of Mechanical building services designspredominantly for Railway Stations and other Railway Buildings, working individually or as part ofa team


ResponsibilitiesThe applicant will have proven experience in the HVAC design of Railway Station Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

Must be technically good in heat load calculations, Duct & pipe sizing and pressure drop calculationsMust be technically good in Equipment selection such as Chillers, AHU, FCU, boiler, fans, pumps etc.

Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment's etc.,The applicants should possess a degree in Mechanical EngineeringMust have knowledge on softwares like AutoCAD, MEP Revit, Microstation & other drafting softwaresA sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essentialExperience of associated discipline software (HAP, Hevacomp, IES etc.)Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technicalRaise the level of technical competence within the teams.
Implement delivery and quality measurement processesPromote technical excellence in all our projects.
Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the designProvide continuous feedback to the Local Head of CRC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvementDevelop positive professional relationship with the WSP UK Team, communicating openly about project progressSupervise, coordinate and support other project Engineers and CAD TechniciansEnsure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policiesEnsure statutory and regulatory requirements are met within the designParticipate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP I Parsons BrinckerhoffIdentify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processesManage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leaderIdentify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEPComplete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines

Key Competencies / Skills:


Mandatory SkillsThe applicant will have proven experience in the design of Building Services designs predominantly for Railway Stations and other Railway Buildings with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

The applicants should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. IMechE, CIBSE, ISHRAE, ASHRAE.Must be technically good in Mechanical.
The applicant should have design experience of UK Projects.
This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards.

Development of energy strategies incorporating renewable technologies and low energy designs to satisfy local authority planning requirements and compliance with UKMust be fully conversant with technical software, such as IES, Hevacomp, HAP.A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essentialMust be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

Valid passportApplicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technical

Desired SkillsExcellent working knowledge of NBC, BS, NFPA and other local codes and good working knowledge of UK codes would be advantageous

QualificationsBachelor's degree in relevant subjectMinimum of 3 years relevant work experience
