OPERATIONS
Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted function that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.
OUR IMPACT
The Liquidity Management(LM) team sits within Trade Management operations which has primary responsibility for all aspects of cash management, collateral management, post-trade guideline oversight, trade life-cycle and serves as the single point of contact for all operations related liquidity inquiries across GSAM. These functions cover a wide range of clients and a complex product range, which include equities, fixed income, currency and derivatives. The group supports portfolio managers, client relationship managers by providing accurate and timely liquidity information and overseeing all aspects of operational risk & clients counterparty risk across portfolios. This involves extensive interaction with internal and external parties to ensure effective oversight for existing business and also to shape and implement solutions for new clients, products, strategies, and system architecture.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Be highly collaborative, team-oriented and strong consensus builder Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral Knowledge of financial products, whether academically or professionally acquired. Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities and to work well under pressure in a team environment. High level of discretion and awareness of accountability. Analytical skills and interest in developing problem-solving capabilitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services industry. Specific knowledge of collateral or treasury operations Demonstrate ability to partner across product groups, regions and functional responsibilities Be a strategic thinker, possesses strong facilitation and data gathering skills Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure and to provide practical solutionsJOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
Holistic ownership and understanding of client accounts from a GSAM Operations perspective, trade life-cycle and act as a single point of contact for GSAM business & trade management related issues Gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade lifecycle by interacting with traders, strategists, clients, and technologists to work toward the shared goal of risk mitigation. Understand and improve problem solving capability for complex trade flow, accounting issues, and transactional discrepancies Influence and drive strategic change across the front to back of the function and the broader stakeholder community Deliver consistently while dealing with multiple demands through effective prioritization, load balancing, delegation and time management Optimize clients' operational efficiency by offering innovative yet tangible solutions that meet their needs Communicate and connect with multiple levels of the organization and influence changes. Able to deal with multiple situations escalated by incorporating a broad set of stakeholders' viewpoints both internally and externally Act as a senior point of contact in supporting the business and assessing new business opportunities Inspires followership by being a visible and connected leader at all levels of their organization Demonstrates a strong risk management culture and continues to look for opportunities to identify and mitigate risk Showcase leadership in project management skills toward aims of improved cross-product support and relationship management.
