Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to understand product/customer requirements.
  • Must be able to lead both highlevel and detailed data design discussions to arrive at suitable models and architecture.
  • Create and update conceptual and logical data models to define highlevel business concepts and their relationships to one another.
  • Create and update physical data models for specific database servers, e.g. Snowflake, Oracle, Redshift, Postgres, MySQL etc
  • Influence development teams to proactively design and document their data as a part of the SDLC

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience working in software design as a Data Architect.
  • Experience creating extensible data models that support business requirements.
  • Experience working with large data sets, data architecture, complex data pipelines, management and governance.
  • Ability to identify ambiguity in requirements and work with stakeholders to improve precision of requirements.
  • Experience leading teams to a solution, able to make appropriate tradeoffs.
  • Knowledge of Cloud architecture, Data Lake, Data warehouse with managing data pipelines
  • Advanced working knowledge of cloudbased data solutions (Snowflake, Redshift etc)
  • Solid understanding of Normal Forms, expert SQL writer
  • Expertise with database servers from both relational and NoSQL vendors. Know the tradeoffs between relational and NoSQL platforms.
  • Strong verbal & written communications skills with excellent vocabulary and appreciation for semantics.
  • Preferred Competencies_
  • Good understanding of Clinical Data Management principles and systems as well as basic knowledge of ICH, FDA and GCP regulations and guidelines
