Information Security Engineer

In this role you will add value to PXP by:
Having a hands-on role in maintaining and developing the information security infrastructure of the company. Self-motivated with a deep technical acumen and a strong desire to increase their technical skillset in the Information Security sphere.
This role will require antisocial working hours of 11:30am to 8:30pm, Monday to Friday as collaborating with other teams in the UK and Bulgaria is key to this role.
A typical week as an Information Security Engineer might involve:
- Daily analysis of security events and alerts, tracking events to root cause, and researching and validating suspicious activity.
- Assisting in maintaining and enhancing security event management systems to ensure optimum event management and alerting including advanced configuration of Azure Sentinel.
- Analyzing file integrity events, tracking events to root cause, and researching and validating suspicious activity.
- Assisting in maintaining and enhancing file integrity monitoring systems to ensure optimum coverage and reporting. Configuring and updating the FIM platform and the deployment and troubleshooting of FIM agents.
- Managing endpoint protection technologies to ensure all systems are properly protected, investigating, and troubleshooting alerts, and performing corrective actions.
- Assisting with the management of intrusion prevention systems, ensuring that they have most recent signatures, are operational and correctly configured, and investigating and advising on excessive malicious activity.
- Assisting in maintaining identity and access systems ensuring correct privileges assigned as per user roles.
- Assisting in maintaining vulnerability management systems, ensuing optimum coverage and performance, remediating vulnerabilities, and producing reports.
- Assisting with IP asset management and ensuring security technologies are installed, correctly configured, and maintained on all systems.
- Assisting with software inventories and ensuring only authorised applications are installed on systems and investigating any unauthorised software installations.
- Assisting with internal security auditing and preparation for external security audits.
- Conducting internal penetration tests.
- Liaise with colleagues across the business in the resolution of security issues.
We are looking for someone who:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 in Information Security.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems and have experience in assessing and configuring security elements on both and experience in building and securing.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Azure Sentinel SIEM, both the day to day incident management and as well as experience in Azure Sentinel configuration and deployment of the AMA.
- Tripwire File Integrity Monitoring, including deployment of agents, updating of systems and day to day management of system change alerts.
- Sophos Endpoint Protection, including troubleshooting deployment on server systems and configuration of policies.
- Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems.
- Nessus and Qualys vulnerability management systems, including Nessus system maintenance, updating and redeploying of Nessus Scanner images, and vulnerability management..
- Azure and Office 365 security, alert management, threat hunting and interacting with users to troubleshoot incidents.

- Have previous exposure to the PCIDSS and SOC2.
- Penetration testing tools and methodologies.
