  • Bug bounty program—manage incoming reports, engage researchers, and enhance program engagement
  • Web Application Firewall and Rate Limiting—expand coverage and tune rules in collaboration with various teams
  • Remediation—work with developers to address security issues promptly
  • Secure Software Development Lifecycle—set up automated tools in our SDLC to detect security issues early
  • Developer Education, Security Culture—promote technical security awareness within the engineering department
  • Incident response—lead incident response phases and post-analysis
  • Collaboration with security and compliance teams—work with different teams on projects for system and data security
  • Process improvements—enhance internal processes
  • A typical day includes:
  • Engaging with product teams for threat analysis and data flow
  • Reviewing code for security best practices
  • Participating in bug bounty program reviews
  • Communicating with Development and Product Management teams on security-related topics
  • Performing penetration tests
  • Assisting the compliance team
  • Providing technical advice to team members

Skills and knowledge required:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development, devops, or site reliability engineering
  • Preferred experience in Application Security
  • Strong knowledge of web, mobile, and network security
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, PHP, Javascript, and Ruby
  • Experience in application penetration testing with tools like Burp or Zap
  • Experience with cloud environments like AWS and GCP
  • Proficiency in shell scripting and SDLC components like git, Jira, Jenkins
  • Ability to explain technical security concepts to developers
  • Upper-intermediate level of English

Bonus skills:

  • Link to a GitHub repository with security tools/scripts you've developed
  • Full-stack web development experience creating RESTful applications
  • Open-source vulnerability research or blog posts
  • Experience with system security and SDLC principles
