The Role:We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic, and creative individual to join our team as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor specializing in the field of Information Design.This position is crucial for molding the future leaders of Information Design and Data Visualisation.You will have a key role in our mission to integrate design, technology, and data to create valuable educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Deliver compelling lectures, workshops, and seminars in Information Design and Data Visualisation. Update curriculum content to align with industry trends and technological progress.
  • Mentorship and Student Support: Offer academic and professional mentorship to students, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Research and Innovation: Conduct innovative research in Information Design and Data Visualisation. Publish findings in reputable publications and contribute to the academic community.
  • Industry Collaboration: Cultivate strong partnerships with industry collaborators. Coordinate student projects, internships, and joint research endeavors that link academia with industry.
  • Program Promotion: Actively engage in promoting and expanding the program. Participate in outreach events, represent the institution at conferences, and contribute to marketing activities.
  • Administrative Duties: Support departmental operations, including student assessments, curriculum development, and involvement in faculty meetings.

Essential Qualifications:A Master's degree or higher in Information Design, Data Visualization, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or a related field.Proven teaching experience, preferably at the postgraduate level.A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in Information Design and Data Visualisation.A solid track record of research and publications in relevant areas.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to innovate in teaching methods and curriculum design.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in a related field.
  • Professional background in the design industry.
  • Experience in creating online and hybrid learning modules.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations and networks.
