Experience: 8 to 12 Years

Role Objective & Deliverables:

This position will function as the main Financial Technology expert in collaboration with a team of technical professionals and lead advisor to contribute to the development of a future technology framework using a phased approach outlined across 3 horizons (Immediate wins, medium-term, long-term). Each project within the horizons structure will require analysis from current expenses to future operational costs and implementation costs through well-documented business cases established within an 8 to 10-week timeframe.

Key deliverables include:

  • 1. Detailed documentation of current technology expenses for future comparisons.
  • 2. Forecasted cost analysis for key projects categorized into the 3 horizons: Immediate wins, medium-term, and long-term.
  • 3. Comprehensive business cases outlining implementation costs, return on investment, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), considering Capex vs. Opex preferences, leasing options, and managed services versus ownership, among other technology alternatives.
  • 4. Possibility to incorporate financial evaluations for sourcing and partnership choices.

Describe the scope of the mentioned deliverables including technology platforms and services:

All technology aspects such as hosting preferences (cloud/on-premises/Colocation), computing, storage, networking, backup/recovery, tooling services, management vendors/sourcing, workplace services, software licensing, and maintenance/support expenses, project expenditures.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in Financial Technology with a minimum of 10 years in technology and finance, particularly in assessing transformation projects and initiatives with full cost estimation.
  • Proficient in understanding aspects such as Capital Expenditure (Capex) and Operating Expenses (Opex), lease or purchase options, vendor agreements, and cost attribution metrics considering depreciation, taxation, and regional influences.
  • Ability to offer insights on financial frameworks for cost efficiency, optimization, and streamlining of technology finances.
  • Conduct thorough Azure FinOps evaluations to identify cost influencers, analyze spending trends, and suggest optimization strategies within Azure Cloud.
  • Engage with clients to evaluate and enhance their cloud infrastructure emphasizing core FinOps principles like cost distribution, budgeting, forecasting, and more. Assist clients in assessing FinOps maturity and upholding FinOps Foundation Framework standards.
  • Comprehensive grasp of technology products/services glossaries and cost components for operating diverse technologies, including extensive familiarity with on-premises versus cloud expenditures.
  • Proficient in providing detailed Excel-based financial modeling and utilizing formulas to deliver reusable models for clients post-engagement.
  • Capable of delivering reports at both detailed and executive summary levels using tools like PowerPoint and other visual aids if required.
