Job Summary

New YorkState Homes and Community Renewal is undergoing a majormodernization of their business applications and is seeking a DataWarehouse Developer (Developer) within their Information Technologydepartment to play a key role in this effort which will includedesigning and building an enterprise data warehouse.

The Developer must have extensiveexperience in software analysis design development implementationand maintenance of Data Warehouse/Data Marts. The Developer willwork closely with project managers IT staff program staff and otherstakeholders to define and develop requirements for the enterprisedata warehouse. The Developer will apply a range of specializedskills and tools to complete the following specific duties andresponsibilities:

TheDeveloper will use their extensive knowledge of business analysisbest practices to facilitate requirements sessions and communicateclearly and effectively with endusers applications developerssenior business managers and other team members. The Developer willbe accountable for providing coordination to ensure the appropriatecollection of data; documentation of information; and presentationof findings. The Developer will provide documentation andflowcharts of the organizations workflow as well as adhoc querysupport and report creation.

The Developer must have strong technical knowledge andunderstanding of IT systems and applications as well as the abilityto plan and track business analyses activities as part of aproject. The Developer also must have good listening skills andinterviewing skills to talk with individuals and groups about theirneeds and ask the right questions to surface essential requirementsinformation. The ideal candidate will also possess good writingskills to ensure effective communication of information tocustomers marketing managers and technical staff.

The Developer will report directly tothe CIO and indirectly to the VP / Application Development Managerand will play a vital role in helping HCR fulfil its strategicanalytical and operational reporting requirements. The idealcandidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills when solvingproblems and making recommendations for new solutions.

Responsibilities Include(but not limited to):

Extensiveexperience in architecting and designing solutions at Enterprisescale in Enterprise Data warehouse applications.

Experience in developing Data Warehouse/Data Marts usingas examples OBIEE OBI APPS Cognos Business Objects SPSS SSIS SSRSInformatica Power Center OWB and ODI.

Experience on design and development of Data Warehouse Architecturefor Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Operational data Store (ODS)Operational Data Marts and Data Marts.

Experience in defining metadata standards for the enterprise datawarehouse.

Experience in design and developmentof:

o ETL processes using Dimensional Modelingfor ROLAP and MOLAP.

o ETL technicalarchitecture.

o BI load dependency plan jobscheduling and cycle management.

Experience indeveloping endtoend Data warehouse ETL routines.

Experience in using SQL in advanced analytical functions.

Experience in writing complex PL/SQL packagesstored Procedures functions cursors triggers views and materializedviews.

Experience in creation of enterprisedata Warehouse Test plan Test script creation and Test ScriptExecution for different test environments such as SystemIntegration and User Acceptance.

Experiencedeveloping optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse sourcesystem platforms and moving it to the Enterprise DataWarehouse.

Experience in Logical and Physicaldata Models for enterprise data warehouse andapplications.

Experience developing andconfiguring Interactive Dashboards with drilldown capabilitieslinks/images HTML objects and folders.

Proficient in using the timeseries functions to support historicaltime comparison analysis.

Experience withCalculated Measures and assigned Aggregation levels based onDimension Hierarchies.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree; MBA or relevant technical degreepreferred.

A strong background in technologyanalysis and critically evaluating information gathered frommultiple sources.

Experience decomposinghighlevel information into details distinguishing user requestsfrom the underlying true needs and developing solution ideas fromrequirements.

Strong experience writingbusiness requirements documentation (BRDs) and functionalrequirements documentation (FRDs).

Provenexperience successfully working in a team setting and ability toreconcile conflicts.

Minimum seven 710 years ofexperience in related professional business/project analystcapacity.

Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills.

Experience in the housingand financial sector is preferred and a major plus especiallyaround accounting bonds mortgages underwriting loans originationand servicing; in addition to experience around grants tax creditsproperty/buildings asset management and compliancereporting.

Excellent experience with MS Office2013/2016 and above as well as design tools and flowcharting toolse.g. Visio.
