Job Description:
Big Data Engineer with Java and GCP

Software Requirements:

Java:
Expertise in Java programming

Python:
Proficiency in Python programming and frameworks like Django, Flask

Big Data:
Experience in working with Big Data technologies such as Spark Core, Hive, and Airflow

GCP:
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform offerings, experience in building data pipelines on GCP is a plus

SQL:
Proficiency in SQL

Hadoop Architecture:
Knowledge of Hadoop, Map Reduce, and HDFS

UNIX Shell Scripting:
Experience in UNIX shell scripting

CI/CD Pipelines:
Experience in defining and using CI/CD pipelines

Caching and Queuing Stacks:
Experience in caching and queuing stacks such as Redis and Kafka

Logging Systems and Visualization Tools:
Exposure to logging systems like ELF and visualization tools like Tableau is a plus

Technical and Functional Specifications:
Ability to develop and document technical and functional specifications, and analyze software and system processing flows

Creative Problem Solving:
Innovative approach to problem-solving

Business Understanding:
Willingness to understand the business and actively participate in discussions about project requirements

Overall Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of projects using emerging technologies
Mentor and guide team members to ensure successful project delivery
Identify and evaluate new technology solutions to improve business processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the organization's overall strategy
Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry trends

Category-wise Technical Skills:

Programming Languages:
Expert in Java and Python, with proficiency in Python frameworks like Django and Flask

Big Data Technologies:
Experience in Spark Core, Hive, Airflow, and Hadoop Architecture

Cloud Platform:
Familiarity with GCP offerings and experience in building data pipelines on GCP

Data Management:
Proficiency in SQL, UNIX shell scripting, and experience in defining and using CI/CD pipelines

Data Processing and Visualization:
Exposure to caching and queuing stacks, logging systems, and visualization tools

Documentation and Analysis:
Ability to develop and document technical and functional specifications, and analyze software and system processing flows

Experience:
Experience Level: 4 to 8 years of experience in software development and leading technology projects

Project Delivery:
Proven track record of delivering projects using emerging technologies

Mentorship:
Experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members
Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience in working with cross-functional teams

Day-to-Day Activities:
Manage the development and delivery of projects using emerging technologies
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the organization's overall strategy
Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to improve business processes
Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry trends

Qualification:

Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Certifications:
Relevant certifications in emerging technologies

Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
