About the Opportunity

The Sr. Systems Consultant uses superior programming skills and knowledge of customer business challenges to provide outstanding service to the Ellucian Managed Services client community. The work ranges from software troubleshooting and break/fix support up to full application development and spans many areas including applications, integrations and reporting. This is a customer-facing position that requires good consulting skills.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for needs assessment, integration services and the ability to develop a strong working relationship with the client.

Where will you make an impact

The Sr. Systems Consultant will:

Provide creative technical input to help develop technical solutions to customer problems. Facilitate business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing business process analysis and insight into best practice methodologies. Consult with client to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications. Apply design and programming skills across all application tiers to develop and test application, changes, interfaces, reports and scripts. Provide quality end-user consultation and support. Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about applications. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise applications Prepare documents related to requirements and specifications for conversion, reporting, interfaces and custom applications Write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.

What you will bring

Overall 5 -8 years of experience. 4 + years of relevant experience Strong Oracle database developer expertise including SQL, PL/SQL, database functions and procedures. Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions Prior experience of directly working with US customers Willing to learn new technologies to serve the ever changing customer needs Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors and customers. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the artifacts as needed Develop accurate and comprehensive test plans and execute tests according to plans

D esired Skills

Oracle Forms and Reports development experience Pro*C and Pro*COBOL development experience. Oracle HTP built-in web application development. UNIX/Linux shell script , Cron experience. Groovy / GRAILS web application development experience. Other web application development (JSON ,PHP, Ruby, etc.) Java MVC , Web application Development experience ,Knowledge of Angular, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery Working experience on API development Experience in Higher Education applications What makes #Ellucianlife
