Cloudera is looking for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the Cloudera Observability team and help drive the development of Cloudera's next-generation Observability Product. As a​Staff Machine Learning Engineer you will:

​Opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a significant impact in the field of machine learning. Responsible for helping design, build, and deliver a product that not only accelerates machine learning & AI from exploration to production but also enables enterprises to create & deploy Generative AI applications using foundation models with enterprise data at scale​. Machine Learning Model Development​ - Design​ing, develop​ing, and implement​ingmachine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems. Data Collection and Preprocessing: Gather​ingand preprocess large datasets for model training and evaluation, ensuring data quality and reliability Model Training and Optimization: Train, fine-tune, and optimize machine learning models for performance, accuracy, and scalability. Feature Engineering: Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts to extract meaningful features from data to improve model performance. Deployment and Integration: Deploy machine learning models into production environments and integrate them with existing systems and applications. Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure the ongoing performance of deployed models and make necessary improvements. Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI research, and apply cutting-edge techniques to our projects. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to define project objectives and deliverables. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of models, code, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and reproducibility. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior machine learning engineers, fostering their growth and development.

We're excited about you if you have:

​Requires an empathetic mindset and close collaboration with frontend/web UI engineers, data scientists, designers, and product management. 8+ years of experience building scalable​Microservices Java and Python. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus. Proven experience as a machine learning engineer with a track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in real-world applications. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar. Expertise in deep learning techniques, including CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers. Proficiency in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker). Knowledge of model deployment frameworks and tools (e.g. Kubernetes). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Publications, open-source contributions, or patents related to machine learning and AI are a plus. ​Eagerness to make an impact as an individual, and the willingness to learn new things. You must be self-motivated, innovative, and proactive.

It is a plus if you have:

Experience with open-source foundation models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Experience building scalable, robust and secure Enterprise applications. Experience using Big Data technologies like Spark, Hive etc. Experience in building or using observablity products.
