We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Business Analyst in Maritime Industry

Role: Senior Business Analyst

Location: Siruseri SIPCOT, Chennai

How you will contribute:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements, user needs, and existing systems to identify gaps and propose effective solutions tailored to the maritime software.
  • Collaborate with product managers, software developers, and clients to gather, define, and prioritize functional and technical requirements.
  • Translate complex business processes and user requirements into clear and concise specifications and user stories.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development oversight, quality assurance, and implementation support.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for product differentiation and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions within agreed timelines and budget.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on industry-specific best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Continuously monitor the performance and effectiveness of implemented solutions, collecting user feedback and driving ongoing improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in the maritime sector, incorporating relevant insights into product development initiatives.

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 to 10 years of Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the maritime Industry.
  • Deep understanding of the maritime industry, including knowledge of shipping operations, logistics, port management, vessel performance, regulatory compliance, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, interpret, and translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Proficiency in eliciting and documenting functional and technical specifications, user stories, and use cases.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on driving innovative solutions.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and technologies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with maritime software applications, such as fleet management systems, vessel tracking solutions, or maritime data analytics, is a plus.
