Job Description of PR Specialist

  • Liaise on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email.
  • Monitor the media, new age media and newspapers, magazines, journals,
broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities for clients.

  • Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and
tactics.

  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print,
broadcast and online media.

  • Coordinate all public relations activities.
  • Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business
and industry media.

  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings.
  • Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media.
  • Promote news stories and features to the media, known as 'selling in'.
  • Collate, analyze and evaluate media coverage.
  • Manage events, including press conferences and promotional events.
  • Assist with the production of client publications, such as in-house magazines.
  • Commission market research
  • Coordinate studio or location photography.
  • Undertake research for new business proposals and present them to potential new
clients.

  • Manage the PR aspect of a possible crisis situation.
  • Motivating the team and keeping spirits high to encourage a friendly & open
environment.

  • Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations.
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing
basis.

  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make
appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding

them.

  • Oversee reportage of PR & marketing campaigns' results.
  • Manage sensitive issues to maintain company's good reputation.
  • To work with brand manager to identify database gaps, identify the key target
audiences for each event, understand audience size, demographics and behavior,

and the product proposition and key messages, in order to develop targeting

strategies to drive engagement and response.

  • Responsible to work on influencer marketing and sales marketing.
  • Track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at
both a local and national level.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
