As a Warehouse AutomationLead you will be a crucial member of the Supply Chain Development& Analytics department driving its growth and delivery.This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skillsa deep understanding of warehouse operations and experiencemanaging complex automation projects. Adaptability problemsolvingabilities and a focus on continuous improvement are essential forsuccess in this role. You must also ensure that the supply chainaligns with FPGs overall business objectives and meets customerdemand.

TheChallenges
  • StrategyDevelopment: Create a comprehensive strategy forwarehouse automation aligned with supply chain goals consideringthe unique requirements of ambient and cold storagefacilities.
  • TechnologySelection: Identify evaluate and choose automationtechnologies (e.g. robotics multishuttle AGV sortation) thatoptimize operations and fit within thebudget.
  • Implementation:Lead and oversee the implementation of automation solutions acrossmultiple warehouses ensuring seamless integration minimaldisruption and adherence to timelines and budgets. Identifypotential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensurebusinesscontinuity.
  • CrossFunctionalCollaboration: Collaborate with departments(Operations Tech Finance Industrial Engineering IndirectProcurement) to gather requirements ensuring alignment with overallbusiness objectives. Ensure compliance with industry standardsregulations and safety protocols to maintain a safe workingenvironment.
  • PerformanceMeasurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to measurethe performance of automated systems monitor operations andimplement improvements to enhance efficiency accuracy andcosteffectiveness.
  • Training:Develop training programs for warehouse staff to adapt to newautomation systems and processes facilitating a smooth transitionand maximizing automationbenefits.
  • Innovation:Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in warehouseautomation fostering a culture of innovation and exploringopportunities for furtherenhancements.
What ItTakes
  • At least 5 yearsof experience working with warehouse automation technologiesincluding robotics automated storage systems conveyor systems WMSand IoT devices. Handson experience in implementing maintaining oroptimizing automation systems is particularlybeneficial.
  • Understanding of warehouseautomation technologies and material handlingequipment.
  • Familiarity with a wide range ofwarehouse automation technologies and their applications along withemerging trends and innovations in thefield.
  • Strong analytical mindset to assessperformance metrics troubleshoot issues and make datadrivenrecommendations for improvements.
  • Strategicmindset to align warehouse automation initiatives with longtermbusiness objectives anticipating future needs andtrends.
  • Understanding of budgeting costanalysis and ROI calculations related to automation investmentswith the ability to optimize resource allocation for maximumROI.
  • Knowledge of industryspecific regulationssafety protocols and compliancestandards.
  • Understanding of vendor selectionprocesses contract negotiations and vendor relationshipmanagement.
  • Familiarity with change managementprinciples and training methodologies to facilitate the adoption ofnew automationtechnologies.
