Summary:
Civil Designer with 8 to 15 years of experience in Engineering Design office of repute. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools.

Should have experience of preparing, checking and leading Structural concrete and steel works using Civil 3D/ Inroads/ Open Roads software.


Essential Job Duties:

Assists in the development of basic layout drawings for civil/structural data or other purposes to be used in working drawingsPerforms work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, or constructabilityUnderstanding of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant design guides.

Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials and Codes including of OSHAThe designer must interpret and implement technical direction received from engineers, technologists or other supervisors and work independently to develop clear and concise drawings that will be checked by an engineer prior to being completed and issuedPrepare material take-offs and preparation of material lists

Job Knowledge:
Proficient in use of SP3D & Tekla software to prepare design and construction drawings. Draw clear, complete, and accurate detail drawings based on design inputs, sketches, field notes, and verbal communicationUnderstanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methodsExperience of preparing general arrangement and reinforcement detail drawings of concreteExperience of preparing general arrangement and detail drawings of steelExperience of preparing general arrangement of infrastructure projects including buildingsCapable of assuring quality of the drawings and other associated deliverablesKnowledgeable and capable of working in excel, word and other material take-off softwareKnowledge of material take off and preparation of material list

Qualification (Candidates must meet all basic qualifications to be considered)Diploma in Civil Engineering/Architecture or Drafting and Design Technology certificate from ITI/CTIExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills


Preferred RequirementsKnowledge of other software like SP3D, Microstation, AutoCAD, Tekla, NavisworksWillingness to accept field assignment on projects anywhere in the worldPrior experience of working in infrastructure projects or institutional buildings shall be added advantageWorking experience on TEKLA Concrete will be an added advantage.
