Duties:

The Design Engineer will perform various engineering work in designing products and custom options to meet specific customer needs.

Responsibilities:

Prepare 2D Drawings using the SolidWorks CAD tool. 3D part modeling of Sheet Metal parts and extrusions using SolidWorks software. Create/ modify SolidWorks assemblies for parts, drawings, etc. Create detailed engineering drawings, Production drawings and GA drawings. Create new standard parts, Kits and configurable assemblies and sub-assemblies using SolidWorks. Assigning new parts numbers for the truck components and assemblies using JDE. Document design process. Check-In and Check-Out of models in PDM live environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4 to 8 years of experience or similar preferred; may consider associate degree with 5 to 9 years of experience. 2+ years of experience working with truck body design elements. In-depth knowledge of truck body manufacturing process. In-depth knowledge of truck body regulatory requirements. Solidworks/ PDM proficiency and certification is preferred. Excellent working knowledge of sheet metal design and weld fabrication processes, along with knowledge of assembly and welding procedures. Ability to "work with the team" and engage in work "hands-on". Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. English Proficiency: Excellent written and oral Communication is required.
