Role-Data Science_Associate Director(Prefered Pharma domain)


We are looking for a techno-functional leader to drive a team of talented data scientists, ML engineers and data engineers who can help expand the capabilities and drive global initiatives.


Core Responsibilities:
Ownership of Project Delivery

  • Serve as trusted advisor by actively participating in various phases of the projects (including kickoff, methodology development, execution, insight generation and data visualizations)
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to present the final outcomes and provide recommendations as needed
  • Build and exhibit deep expertise on statistical/AI/ML techniques combined with strong knowledge of the commercial pharma business and the problems that are being solved by data and analytics
Project Management and people leadership

  • Set up processes to ensure continuous highquality delivery by the team, including but not limited to implementing best project management practices (agile/ scrum as needed)
  • Setup and manage a team of highly talented professionals (data scientists, ML Ops); and implement upskilling plans as required for business needs
  • Serve as a career advisor/coach, work with functional leadership and HR to identify career opportunities for team members, both systemically (career path development) and with individuals as needed
  • Develop a pipeline of data science talent and leadership, and contribute to an inclusive community of analytics expert practitioners
Strategic growth and thought leadership

  • Strategize on key opportunities/whitespaces, drive discussions and expand outcomes from LCCI for data science driven business solutions
  • Integrate working model for analytics capabilities across BI&A teams, and where possible, across other LCCI teams to drive better crossteam resourcing, crosspollination of best practices and expansion of LCCI capabilities
  • Interface with the IDS and other groups within commercial ecosystem to pull through innovations and best practices that accelerate capability builds and technology adoption, while managing delivery expectations
  • Network with industry experts and external consultants as needed to develop, test, and implement new approaches and solutions for analytics capabilities at LCCI
Experience Required
years of relevant work experience with demonstrated experience of setting up and leading high performing analytics/data-science teams

  • Extensive experience working on the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence, natural language processing and other approaches to structured/unstructured data, advanced mathematical and predictive modelling, visual analytics etc.
  • Demonstrated strength/understanding in statistics (preferred)
  • Significant coding experience in R and/or Python
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to be able to structure and solve open ended business problems (pharma experience is highly preferred)
Education

  • Master's/Ph.
D. degree in technology, statistics/mathematics, econometrics, operations research or computer science
