The Corporate Affairs function is essential to our global growth strategy, focusing on engagement with government bodies and stakeholders to navigate policy and regulatory issues.

By fostering constructive relationships and participating in industry forums, the Corporate Affairs team ensures alignment with regulatory frameworks and advances our strategic objectives.

This function plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing strategies that drive business growth and reinforce GILAC's leadership position in the industry.

About the role


As a Manager - Corporate Affairs, you will support government relations, engage with policymakers and industry forums in Maharashtra, and execute strategies to drive business growth, working closely with the Group President – Corporate Affairs and reporting to the General Manager – Corporate Affairs.


Key responsibilities:

  • Government relations and advocacy
Lead government-related initiatives that impact GILAC's business interest
Develop and lead advocacy efforts on priority issues, engaging leadership in public policy and regulatory advocacy
Engage with government officials and other relevant external stakeholders at all appropriate levels to enhance their understanding of GILAC's products, services and positions, and promote policies that enhance and protect them

  • Policy development and coordination
Collaborate with our business leaders to lead and coordinate policy priorities related to business activities in Maharashtra
Develop policy positions and support the creation of thought leadership materials on relevant issues to enhance the business's market position
Monitor impending changes in relevant legislation, regulations and or government incentive schemes closely

  • Industry and external engagement
Participate in industry association meetings in close coordination with the General Manager and Group President of the Corporate Affairs team, driving business activity on priority issues
Develop business engagement and partnerships with internal stakeholders and support functions to drive business outcomes and continuous improvement within the Corporate Affairs function

  • Strategic business support
Collaborate with business leaders to develop strategic priorities by participating in business operating processes such as financial planning, product development and strategy development
Work with legal counsel and business leaders to secure regulatory approvals needed to execute Godrej's commercial priorities
Assist businesses in securing government support, such as financial incentives, and pending dues, to help meet their business goals

Who are we looking for?

Education:
A Bachelor's degree along with an advanced degree in business, technical, or law

Experience:
8 to 14 years (after graduation/post-graduation)
Significant experience working with the government and key stakeholders in shaping policies to achieve positive business outcomes and a demonstrated track record of success in those engagements
Broad understanding of public policy-making and legislative processes at the state and national levels and ability to identify and engage key decision-makers within government
Ability to work through complex issues to quickly identify top priority and focus areas
Experience working with complex organizations to map out key decision-makers/stakeholder
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Fluency in spoken and written Marathi, Hindi and English

Skills:
Self-motivated and dedicated team player with a proactive approach to managing and continuously improving the function
Demonstrated strategic thinking, including proven ability to prioritize, balance, and address conflicting demands from multiple business entities in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to conducting business affairs with the utmost integrity, adhering strictly to applicable laws and upholding Godrej's values, which often exceed legal compliance
Forward-thinking and proactive in addressing legislative, regulatory and public policy issues
