You will be a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure MySQL migration platform team.You will design, develop, test, and deploy features and enhancements that enable customers to migrate and optimize their MySQL databases on Azure.
You will mentor and coach junior engineers and contribute to the team culture and best practices.What you'll do
Build and innovate:
You will use your skills and experience in services, MySQL, Azure, and other technologies to build and improve the migration platform and related services.
Collaborate:
You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and customers to deliver features and enhancements that meet their needs and expectations.
Enhance customer experience:
You will ensure that the migration platform is easy to use, robust, and secure, and that it provides customers with the best possible price/performance ratio.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or IT technical discipline or 5+ years of industry engineering experience
- 5+ years of programming experience in C++ or C# or Java with excellent understanding of PowerShell, Scripting languages and Linux

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional QualificationsExperience with internals of MySQL or similar Enterprise Database Management system, including understanding of migration and replication technology.
- Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.
- Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Experience creating and shipping V1 products using modern development practices.
- Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).
- Great curiosity and willingness to question.
- High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment.

- Experience building Distributed Systems with reliable guarantees.

- 3+ years of experience in developing and shipping system level features in an enterprise production backend server system.
