DR (Departure Record), RDR (Repair Development Request) & RSS (Repair Source Substantiation).

In this role, you will be accountable for examining, fixing, and upholding aircraft engines' departure records, formulating and handling repair requests for aviation engines, analyzing and justifying repair sources for aviation engine repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and aid in all Aircraft Engine repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards, collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and suppliers to ensure effective repair solutions are executed in line with industry norms and regulations.

Main Duties:

  • Create Repairs for Commercial Engines, Modules and Components to meet maintenance cost, performance, and lifespan objectives
  • Discover and introduce new repair technologies and innovative uses of existing technologies to meet business requirements;
  • Specify and oversee the verification activities (design, analysis, testing, etc.) necessary to prove airworthiness of serviceable or repaired components;
  • Responsibility for Technical Publications relevant to engines, components, or Sub-assembly
  • Utilization of design tools (fundamental knowledge): 2D / 3D CAD like Unigraphics, and proprietary SW's
  • Utilization of Tech Pubs creation/editing tools
  • Analyze and interpret technical data, maintenance logs, and maintenance records to identify necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Work with aircraft maintenance teams and engineers to develop repair processes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify appropriate repair techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to offer technical advice and assistance during the repair process.
  • Record all repair development activities, including repair specifications, procedures, and results.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in aviation engine repair techniques, materials, and regulations.
  • Offer feedback and suggestions for enhancing repair processes and procedures.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving any issues that arise during repairs. Conduct evaluations post-repair to evaluate the effectiveness and durability of repair solutions.
  • Conduct technical analysis and justification of repair sources to ensure conformity with industry standards and regulatory prerequisites.
  • Cooperate with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and certifications for repair sources.
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluations to ascertain the suitability and dependability of repair procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repair source evaluations, justifications, and approvals.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to aviation engine repair and maintenance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing engine problems and failures.
  • Create / define repair tasks, including justification as a Competent Author (CA).
  • Capable of selecting a Repair Technique based on various damages and elaborating on the Advantages and Disadvantages of the chosen Repair Technique.
  • Ability to draft detailed procedures/steps for each Repair Technique and explain the use of each Step.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership, collaboration attitude, and proactiveness
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Clear and diligent thinking

Desirable Skills:

  • Applicable certification in aviation engine maintenance and repair.
  • Prior experience in aviation engine repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical data, maintenance records, and engineering drawings, GD&T.
  • Experience and knowledge in FEA, Stress analysis activities.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards.
  • Superior problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with precise inspection and repair capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork proficiencies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in computerized systems and software for documenting and monitoring repair activities.
  • Inquisitive and enthusiastic about in-service aviation engines
  • Sound knowledge of materials and special processes
  • Prior exposure to Aerospace Design
