The Merchandiser in AASR Collaborative Pvt Ltd shall oversee and manage the business development, merchandise planning, procurement, and distribution processes to ensure the company's product offerings meet customer demands and achieve sales targets. The Senior Merchandiser plays a critical role in optimizing inventory levels, maximizing profitability, and driving the success of the company's product lines in the export market.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) for a merchandiser at AASR Collaborative Pvt Ltd:

1.Business development and Growth: The Merchandiser shall develop and implement strategies to expand the company's market reach and achieve business growth targets.

KRA- Identify new market opportunities and potential customers, conducting market research and analysis to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends. Develop market entry plans, including identifying target countries, segments, and distribution channels for the company's home decor products.

2.Sales Target Achievement: The Merchandiser shall set ambitious sales targets and develop sales plans and strategies to achieve them.

KRA- Develop and implement effective sales strategies, including pricing and negotiations, promotions, and sales campaigns, to drive revenue growth. Monitor sales performance, analyse sales data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization. Provide sales forecasts, sales reports, and regular updates to senior management, highlighting progress and challenges.

3.Client Relationship Management: The Merchandiser shall build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs, product preferences, and requirements.

KRA- Regularly communicate with clients, providing updates on orders, sharing new product developments, and addressing any concerns or queries. Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products, collaborating with the sales team to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue generation.

4.Product Development and Customization: The Merchandiser shall collaborate with the design and product development teams to identify market trends and customer needs, driving product innovation and customization.

KRA- Gather customer feedback and market insights to guide product development initiatives, ensuring the company's offerings are aligned with customer expectations. Work closely with the design team to develop new product concepts and designs that meet market demands and differentiate the company's offerings. Coordinate with the production team to ensure efficient and timely production of samples, meeting customer specifications.

5.Product Sourcing : The Merchandiser Collaborate with the product development team to understand the merchandise assortment strategy, target price points, and quality requirements.

  • KRA- Develop a comprehensive product sourcing strategy that considers market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.

Continuously monitor and evaluate market conditions, identifying new sourcing opportunities and potential risks.

6.Order Management: The Merchandiser shall efficiently manage the end-to-end order process, from order placement to shipment, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The Senior Merchandiser shall ensure that the client is regularly informed regarding the status of their orders.

KRA- Monitor order status and coordinate with internal teams (production, logistics, quality control) to ensure adherence to production schedules and shipment deadlines. Address any order-related issues or delays promptly, proactively communicating with customers to manage expectations and find suitable solutions.

7.Quality Control and Inspection: The Merchandiser shall ensure that all products meet the required quality standards before shipment.

KRA- Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and enforce quality control procedures, conducting inspections at various stages of production.

Coordinate with customers and quality control personnel for pre-shipment inspections, ensuring compliance with quality specifications and resolving any non-compliance issues.

8.Cost Management: The Merchandiser shall monitor and optimize costs related to sourcing, production, and logistics, maximizing profitability for the company.

KRA- Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, and propose cost-efficient alternatives without compromising quality. Analyze cost variances, track expenses, and take necessary measures to control costs within budgetary limits.

9.Collaboration and Communication: The Merchandiser shall foster effective collaboration and teamwork among cross-functional teams, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

KRA- Collaborate with clients and internal teams including marketing, sales, engineering and production, to understand market demands and align design concepts with business objectives. Communicate design ideas, specifications, and production requirements effectively to cross-functional teams and external manufacturers (vendors). Present design proposals and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making design adjustments as needed.

10.Marketing events: The Merchandiser shall collaborate with marketing and sales team for sample reviews, product displays, lifestyle and product styling, and visual displays for the successful showcasing of products at various events like trade shows and client buying meets. They shall also from time to time represent the company's brand at such events.

KRA- Represent company's product and brand at key marketing events.

11.Competitive Analysis and Market Intelligence : The Merchandiser shall conduct regular competitive analysis and stay updated with market trends and industry developments.

KRA- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, product offerings, and market positioning to identify opportunities and potential threats. Gather market intelligence and insights to inform strategic decision-making, product development, and sales and marketing strategies. Stay updated with industry regulations, trade policies, and market dynamics related to home decor manufacturing and export.

By focusing on these key result areas, a Merchandiser at AASRCPL can drive the growth and success, expanding market presence, driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and fostering product innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of about 5 years as a merchandiser in the manufacturing industry, preferably in hard goods.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically based in an office with regular visits to the manufacturing floor and supplier sites.
  • May require travel to meet with suppliers, attend trade shows, or visit customers and retailers.
  • Flexible to work additional hours during peak seasons or product launches.
