The Team & Role


The Training team is a nimble and highly efficient group within Zuora responsible for delivering product training to our customers, partners and employees.

We're collaborative (but still expect each other to own our respective projects); passionate about learning (but realize we must balance time-to-market with perfection); open to giving and receiving honest feedback (but are always kind) so that, in the end, we deliver the highest quality product.


In late 2016, we launched paid subscription access to Zuora University and now we're looking for a Sr Technical Trainer/Instructional Designer with a programming/coding background (who ideally has experience with Revenue Systems) to be based in Chennai office and join our growing team in India.


In this role you'll get to

  • Design, develop and deliver highquality, engaging, innovative training
  • Conduct audience, needs, and task analysis
  • Quick learner of new technologies
  • Outline course objectives and design course structure
  • Script elearning courses and create ILT course materials (PPTs, facilitator guides)
  • Create assessments to check comprehension
  • Partner with visual designers to turn scripts into elearning courses
  • Manage course development from inception to completion (i.e., release to users)
  • Deliver training if/when needed
  • Comfortable with delivering training to live technical audiences
  • Update course content to reflect product releases and based on learner feedback

Who we're looking for

  • 5+ years in instructional design
  • 4+ years experience in programming/coding (+ a keen interest in programming languages)
  • Knowledge of accounting and revenue systems is a big plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency with instructional design tools (training plans, content scripts, design documents, storyboards), processes, and methodologies
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • BA degree in instructional design or related field
