Role description:

We are looking for an Associate Technical Director for our Water team. This role is based in Bangalore / Mumbai / Hyderabad / Noida and involves leading a team to tackle complex projects in North America.

Role accountabilities:

  • Offer techno-managerial leadership to the Structural team in India.
  • Act as a functional area expert, leading a large team and managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • Support the Discipline Director to reach targets and team objectives.
  • Build relationships with senior staff, take charge of project delivery, and enhance technical capabilities.
  • Assist with bid proposals and new projects.
  • Promote creativity, independent thinking, and new digital technologies within the team.
  • Mentor team leads to improve design practices and uphold high standards.
  • Provide direction and set an example as a team leader.
  • Ensure tasks are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Drive adoption of best practices and share knowledge among teams.
  • Define roles and responsibilities, and encourage ownership of achieving quality standards.
  • Take responsibility for project performance, fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Inspire the team to explore digital technologies and create implementation opportunities.
  • Regularly assess team health, identify gaps, and find solutions.
  • Promote the business culture regionally and globally.
  • Proactively assess project and team risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
  • Stay updated on industry innovations and developments.
  • Comply with Arcadis business management system.
  • Foster a culture of health and safety within the team.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Possess good communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 20+ years of experience in Structural Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Experience in developing and implementing engineering solutions.
  • Project management experience.

Required Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of sustainable development best practices.
  • Experience in working on North American projects.
  • Established industry network and expertise in a professional discipline.
  • Familiarity with US structural engineering codes, standards, and practices.
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks, people, and resources.
  • Team management skills to meet evolving technical needs.
  • Coach and mentor engineering professionals for talent development.
  • Awareness of Structural modeling software.
  • Experience with Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, BIM, and future technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication at all levels.
  • Adaptable to new challenges as per business requirements.
