Responsibilities:
  • System Administration:
    Oversee the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) environments, including development, testing, and production instances. Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of ODI infrastructure components.
  • Environment Setup and Configuration:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain ODI environments tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of diverse projects and business units. Configure repositories, agents, and topology settings according to best practices and industry standards.
  • Security Management:
    Implement robust security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage user accounts, roles, privileges, and authentication mechanisms within the ODI environment. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
    Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and job execution metrics to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, optimize query performance, and improve overall system efficiency. Utilize monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot issues and fine-tune ODI workflows and processes.
  • Backup and Recovery:
    Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical ODI artifacts, configurations, and metadata. Perform regular backups of repositories, configurations, and data assets, and ensure the integrity and availability of backup archives for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Patch Management and Upgrades:
    Manage the application of software patches, updates, and version upgrades to ODI components in accordance with vendor recommendations and release schedules. Coordinate with stakeholders to plan and execute upgrade projects, minimize downtime, and mitigate potential risks associated with version transitions.
  • Change Management:
    Establish and enforce change management processes and procedures to govern the deployment of ODI artifacts, configurations, and code changes across different environments. Implement version control systems and release management tools to track and manage changes effectively.
  • Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation:
    Conduct capacity planning assessments to forecast future resource requirements and scale ODI environments accordingly. Allocate compute, storage, and network resources based on workload demands, performance objectives, and growth projections.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of ODI configurations, infrastructure designs, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions to empower team members with the necessary skills and expertise to effectively manage and support ODI environments.
  • Vendor Liaison and Support:
    Serve as a primary point of contact for Oracle support services and engage with vendor representatives to escalate and resolve technical issues, obtain product updates, and leverage expert guidance and assistance as needed. Advocate for the organization's requirements and priorities in interactions with vendors.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and data governance standards in all aspects of ODI administration. Collaborate with compliance officers, auditors, and legal advisors to address compliance gaps, remediate issues, and maintain a secure and compliant ODI environment.
  • Performance Optimization and Automation:
    Implement automation scripts, workflows, and utilities to streamline routine administrative tasks, automate deployment processes, and improve operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for performance optimization and automation within the ODI environment to enhance productivity and reduce manual effort.
