About the team

FIS Digital One comprises various integrated banking modules that will provide an omni-channel banking experience for our clients and their staff, with a unified user interface and real-time access to customer, account, and transactional data across all banking channels.

What you will be doing

As a component of an Agile team, you will contribute to and back up the team to meet its commitments reliably according to the SAFe definition and with the expected quality. The Senior Oracle PL/SQL developer will collaborate closely with each discipline within the Delivery Team (Product Owner, Design, Development, and Test) to devise and craft reports, data reconciliation routines, ETL processes, and application code in response to business requirements.

  • Perform design reviews, offer input and estimate effort needed for implementation
  • Design code components/flows/reports to fulfill the business requirements and the functional design
  • Determine data requirements, define the data model and the data dependencies on the upstream systems
  • Construct all the necessary report components – layout, templates, PL/SQL code - including documentation, in line with the functional and technical design
  • Implement ETLs and data reconciliation routines
  • Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable, and fit-for-purpose code at an acceptable level of quality
  • Develop unit tests (where appropriate) to the highest possible coverage levels. Propose approaches for mocking test data and collaborate closely with the QA engineers to ensure suitable test coverage of the functionality

  • Can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the broader implications of software engineering. A flexible approach is vital for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change
  • Robust experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle functions, procedures, packages. Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and data loading techniques
  • Good comprehension of SQL performance tuning techniques, including methods for extracting large volumes of data. A willingness to enhance understanding of these techniques and apply them in daily activities
  • Experience with different RDMS or DW (Oracle, MS SQL Server, others) and SQL language
  • Capability to understand and design logical and physical data models
  • Advanced level knowledge in Oracle. Particularly, exposure to standby databases, 10g/Oracle 11G RAC, performance tuning, SQL tuning
  • Knowledge of SSIS & PowerShell would be an added Advantage
  • Willingness to operate in a highly challenging production environment
  • Experience in a UNIX & Windows environment is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of shell scripting is beneficial
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive experience in Database installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Expected to deliver hands-on production database support and database project support
  • Offers performance assessment and tuning as linked to the operating system, the database, and disk subsystem
  • Supplies technical support collaborating with technical managers, developers, system administrators, and architects
  • Participate in the assessment and recommendation of DBA tools and new DBMS technologies
  • Engage in Incident Bridge and close incident / task ticket within SLA
  • Conduct proactive maintenance & patching in production & non-production

  • Experience with Azure (preferred) or AWS stack
  • An enthusiastic interest in Cloud architectures, technologies, and trends
  • Basic programming skills are essential, as scripting /automation is a critical component of the role
  • Exposure to Yaml, PowerShell, Terraform, XML, JSON
