Summary:

***Civil - Designer with 8 to 16 years of experience in Engineering Design office of repute. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided drafting and 3D modeling tools. Should have experience of preparing, checking and leading general civil work using software like Inroads, Open Roads & Civil3D.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Shall deliver the complete fabrication package as per project schedule.
  • Shall ensure compliance with Bechtel's standard procedures and project requirements.
  • Coordination with Bechtel Home Office (CSA team) for any interface queries and its timely resolution
  • Assists in the development of basic layout drawings for civil works or other purposes to be used in working drawings
  • Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, or constructability.

  • Perform Material Take off.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience of preparing General Civil engineering drawings of earthworks (rough and finished grading), roads and drainage etc.
  • Proficient in use of general civil software like InRoads, OpenRoads, Civil3D etc to prepare design and construction drawings. Draw clear, complete, and accurate detail drawings based on design inputs,
sketches, field notes, and verbal communication.

  • Experience of preparing general arrangement and reinforcement detail drawings of concrete
  • The designer must interpret and implement technical direction received from engineers, technologists or other supervisors and work independently to develop clear and concise drawings that will be
checked by an engineer prior to being completed and issued.

  • Capable of assuring quality of the drawings and other associated deliverables
  • Prepare material takeoffs and preparation of material lists.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of working in excel, word and other material takeoff software.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Drafting and Design Technology certificate from ITI/CTI.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of software Open Roads or Civil3D

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge in other software like Microstation, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
  • Willingness to accept field assignment on projects anywhere in the world.
  • Knowledge of SP3D/Revit shall be an added advantage.
