Data Analyst – Commercial Data Analytics

At ANZ, our goal is to contribute to a world where individuals and communities prosper. To achieve this, we are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team dedicated to Commercial Data. The Australia Commercial division focuses on merging business and technology expertise to empower analytics, reporting, and data asset development for users across ANZ's Australia Commercial division.

The Data Analyst is key in deriving valuable customer insights, overseeing data management, spotting trends, and enabling data-informed decision-making to improve customer outcomes. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business challenges and working closely with fellow data professionals to devise and implement effective data solutions. The Data Analyst will engage in various aspects of analytics, including business analytics, Business Intelligence, campaign analytics, and predictive analysis.

What will your day look like

  • Connect with stakeholders to grasp business needs related to major initiatives like CRM and CLP
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to dissect requirements, conduct data discovery and analysis, and propose solutions to meet those needs
  • Demonstrate strong communication and articulation skills to convey possible outcomes and limitations to the business
  • Possess a solid understanding of data warehouse tools such as SQL, Teradata, Qlik Sense, etc.
  • Tackle and resolve complex business problems using extensive data sets
  • Have a clear grasp of the end-to-end analytics process and outline and execute the data roadmap
  • Instill a fact-based culture across the bank, aligning factual data with business objectives, encompassing Customer, Operational, Commercial, Market data, and Regulatory facets
  • Continuously generate, monitor, and present 'fact-based' analyses of pertinent customer insights for improving propositions, alongside supporting individual missions of Squads by performing data analysis within different Tribes
  • Source, synthesize, and analyze data from diverse sources to derive insights, and assist in delivering these insights to key audiences, such as the frontline and other tribes, via data platform and scheduling jobs
  • Lead, optimize, design, and implement business interventions to enhance customer engagement and business performance

What will you bring?

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in Data Analytics, ideally within the Commercial sector
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong grasp of applied probability and statistics concepts
  • Prior experience in creating data flows from Salesforce to Teradata
  • Hands-on familiarity with analysis, data manipulation, and presentation tools like SQL, QlikSense, Teradata
  • Analytical and curious mindset for continuous insights enhancement
  • Ability to transform data insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Proficiency in data visualization
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
