  • Understand an applicant's unique background and come up with a plan that suits their persona
  • Creating and maintaining appropriate timelines
  • Conducting online research and suggesting best-fit universities based on the applicant's goals
  • Brainstorming for essays and taking mock interviews
  • Coordinating essay drafts to assess the relevance of content, expression, and grammar
  • Reviewing all written application materials, including but not limited to essays, application forms, and resumes to ensure consistency with the applicant's persona
  • Proofreading all the components of each application to ensure effective presentation and grammatical soundness
  • Conducting basic interview preparation if required
  • Motivating and supporting applicants through a demanding, prolonged application process

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree (preferably from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 US university)
  • 3+ years' experience in study-abroad counselling
  • An empathic individual willing to listen and counsel
  • A team player, willing to help students to achieve their goals
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-dependent environment
  • Competitive organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Maturity, refine, and professionalism
