Position Title:
Hardware Embedded Electronics and Power Electronics Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electronic Design and Simulation:
    • Employ electronic simulation and design tools like Cadence, Allegro, Ansys, and Simplis for the development and validation of hardware embedded systems in electric vehicles.
    • Create and simulate AC-DC converters (meeting DO-160 requirements), DC-DC converters (buck, boost, sepic, flyback), and power input EMI filters to ensure optimum performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Component Selection and PCB Design:
    • Choose suitable electronic components based on performance, reliability, and cost factors.
    • Generate schematics and carry out PCB routing, ensuring adherence to IPC standards and best design practices.
  • Safety and Standards Compliance:
    • Guarantee designs meet safety standards such as ISO26262 by integrating essential safety features into hardware systems.
    • Conduct worst-case analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to pinpoint and address potential failure points in PCB designs.
  • Communication Protocols:
    • Implement and validate various communication protocols like SPI, I2C, SGMII, and CAN to ensure robust and reliable data transfer within embedded systems.
  • Field Analysis and Problem-Solving:
    • Analyze returned field parts to determine the root causes of failures and develop corrective measures to enhance product reliability.
    • Provide constructive feedback to design and manufacturing teams based on field analysis outcomes to improve future product iterations.
  • Thermal and Structural Analysis:
    • Conduct thermal analysis through CFD simulations and heat transfer assessments to ensure appropriate cooling and thermal regulation of hardware components, especially batteries and motors.
    • Perform structural analysis using FEA techniques to evaluate the integrity, strength, and durability of embedded systems under various loading conditions.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
    • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of hardware embedded systems into the vehicle.
    • Document design processes, test outcomes, and validation reports, maintaining detailed records for future reference.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Solid foundation in physics and mathematics.
  • Understanding of key safety (ISO26262) and IPC standards.
  • Proficiency in electronic simulation and design software (Cadence, Allegro, Ansys, Simplis, etc.)
  • Experience in designing converters like AC-DC (to meet DO-160 requirements), DC-DC (buck, boost, sepic, flyback), and power input EMI filter design.
  • Familiarity with component selection, schematic creation, and PCB routing.
  • Knowledge of various communication protocols (SPI, I2C, SGMII, CAN) and PCB worst-case analysis, as well as failure mode and effect analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing field return parts.
