Role SummaryThis role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team, taking a senior role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP India UK Team and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.


ResponsibilitiesThe applicant will have proven experience in the HVAC design of Railway Station Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

Agree and monitor scope of works with the Local iCRC Head of UK Rail MEPClearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local CRC Head of MEP and WSP in India UK Rail Team to allow detailed designCarry out detailed design to WSP in India, UK Building Regulations and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring Construction Design and Management (CDM), QA and technical review and sign off by the Local iCRC UK Rail Head of MEP, including complex calculations and co-ordination issuesReview and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign offMust be technically good in heat load calculations, Duct & pipe sizing and pressure drop calculationsMust be technically good in Equipment selection such as Chillers, AHU, FCU, boiler, fans, pumps etc.

Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment's etc.,The applicants should possess a degree in Mechanical EngineeringMust be fully conversant with technical softwares, such as IES, HAP, HevacompMust have knowledge on softwares like AutoCAD, MEP Revit, Microstation & other drafting softwares

A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essentialMust be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technicalRaise the level of technical competence within the teams.
Implement delivery and quality measurement processesPromote technical excellence in all our projects.
Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the designProvide continuous feedback to the Local Head of CRC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvementDevelop positive professional relationship with the WSP UK Team, communicating openly about project progressSupervise, coordinate and support other project Engineers and CAD TechniciansEnsure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policiesEnsure statutory and regulatory requirements are met within the designParticipate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP I Parsons BrinckerhoffIdentify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processesManage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leaderIdentify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEPComplete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines

Key Competencies / SkillsMandatory Skills


The applicant will have proven experience in the design of Railway infra projects with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

The senior applicants should ideally have obtained British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Building Services Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e.

CIBSE, BS, ASHRAE, Institute of Plumbing.
This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards.

Good presentation skills are also requiredMust be fully conversant with technical software, such as IES, HAP, Hevacomp and manufacturer's software.

A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essentialMust be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
