Marsh Advisory is the consultative branch of Marsh, provides solutions in the increasing needs of our clients to implement risk management programs within their organization. Businesses today regularly tackle multiple challenges; whether facing property and casualty, cyber, pandemic, ERM/BCP/BCM, climate change, supply chain, reputational, or other risks, Marsh Advisory can help.


MMGS is a global knowledge center for Marsh McLennan and houses teams, which work closely with the colleagues across various operating units and locations.

The Knowledge Services function under MMGS aims to provide specialized services in the domain of Research, Consulting, Data Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial and Design.


The Summer Internship program at Knowledge Services aims to provide students with an early exposure towards key risks faced by businesses and compliment their academic learning with real world scenarios.

Combining specialized expertise and advanced analytics, the interns will learn to identify various risks faced by businesses and understand how various strategies help reduce risk exposure, improve profitability and strengthen organizational resilience.


What can you expect?

  • Work as a core member of the Claims Analytics team aligned to the Analytics Solutions team
  • Contribute to the creation and development of excel based Claims Dashboards
  • Support the Analytics Solutions team with state of the art analytics on claims data for various lines of Business
  • Apart from BAU, collaborate and contribute to project based initiatives that the Data Analytics and Reporting team within Knowledge Services keep signingup

We will count on you to:

  • Wrangle, standardize and integrate claims data across clients and transform them to be consumed for Analytics
  • Build excel dashboards with descriptive and trend based analytics on claims data. For more complex projects use Tableau to build interactive Dashboards
  • Review all the metrics in the Dashboard to make sure that the values are within the defined range and call out any anomaly or unusual trends
  • Review claims data to identify the gaps
  • Demonstrate great project management skills to ensure quality and timelines

What you need to have:

  • Quick learner with a keen interest
  • Ability to draw insights by weaving qualitative and quantitative data points into an actionable story board
  • Knowledge and practice of descriptive data analytics using excel, tableau, power BI or any other data visualization tool
  • Knowledge and practice of working on analytical models using Python
  • Effective communicator who is able to liaise with a diverse set of project team members
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and experience
  • Voracious reader and research aptitude
  • Beginner to intermediate level experience of SQL scripting to fetch data will be an added advantage
