About the Role
We are currently hiring a Senior Back-end Engineer to join our engineering team and be responsible
for supporting the software development of new and existing applications.
The candidate would
primarily be involved in the entire development cycle including deployment, bug identification and
applying fixes.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for identifying areas to improve
performance and upgrade interfaces as required from time to time.
The candidate will also be
involved in establishing various system testing and validation procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Key stakeholder for defining the System Design and architecture
  • Mentoring and guiding other Junior/mid-level engineers on Software design and development
  • Design and develop Microservices using Java and Spring
  • Develop back-end API modules from scratch and rolling out changes into existing ones
  • Collaborate with XFN teams in user story grooming, design discussions and solutioning
  • Review and analyze business requirements to provide technical feasibility and effort estimates
  • Practice standard development process, leveraging agile methodologies such as SCRUM and TDD
  • Perform code reviews and manage end to end product development initiatives
  • Collaborate with coworkers to conceptualize, develop, and release software as per requirements
  • Work with Box Pay merchants on technical issues including software system design and maintenance
  • Own assigned modules and manage end-to-end with guidance from senior developers as and when needed
  • Reporting directly to the CTO
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Mentoring junior developers as needed
  • Individual contributor role with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree
  • 5-10 years of total experience in designing and developing software as back-end developer
  • Strong experience in designing and developing software modules using Java programming language
  • Strong experience of developing Microservices using Spring Boot framework
  • Good knowledge of multi-threading concepts and reactive programming
  • Ability to write unit testing of code components and functional tests for modules
  • Experience working in AWS stack like S3, EC2, Open Search and ELBs is a big plus
  • Knowledge of the Dev Ops is a plus
  • Knowledge of Scrum software development life-cycle is desirable
