About Chimple:
Chimple is a Social Enterprise in the Education Technology sector aimed at helping children from low-income communities with Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through an acclaimed open-source application.
Chimple is one of the top 5 finalists in the Global Learning XPRIZE, a competitive challenge that pushed teams worldwide to create scalable software for children in developing nations to self-learn basic reading, writing, and arithmetic within 15 months. Chimple is supported by the Central Square Foundation.
Chimple has successfully implemented in-school initiatives in 35 government schools in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, and 15 BMC schools in Mumbai. Moreover, our at-home learning app has benefitted over 200,000 children throughout India.
We have also conducted an extensive year-long evaluation in collaboration with esteemed organizations in the Education/Development sector across 35-40 schools in the Haryana/UP region.
Due to the promising future for expanding Educational Technology solutions, we are confident that we are just starting to make a difference, aiming to impact 1 million children in India in the next 3 years.

Position Summary:
We are expanding our at-home EdTech program focusing on school children and teachers, with a goal to reach 300 affordable schools and benefit 15,000 children this year. As part of our growth strategy, we plan to establish a replicable model for FLN delivery nationwide.
The Program Manager (PM) will oversee the design and operation of our programs in various schools across different states, maintaining high quality. The PM will play a crucial role in engaging with external stakeholders like partners, schools, governments, funders, and researchers, collaborating with internal teams to devise and implement impactful programs.
Specifically, the PM will collaborate with Chimple's leadership to lead initial ideation, develop partnerships, and manage monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for current and upcoming programs. This multifaceted role reports directly to the CEO.

  • Responsibilities:

Strategy & Design:
  • Formulate new projects, craft compelling proposals, and work with funders, partners, education officials, and government authorities for approvals.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to devise strategies and action plans based on product advancements.
  • Architect the implementation framework for Chimple in different scenarios and reinforce it with insights acquired from the field.
  • Create comprehensive program documentation such as data analysis, case studies, and evidence compilation.

Implementation:
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring adequate support for the program and alignment among different teams.
  • Monitor decisions, timelines, progress, risks, and dependencies, delegating tasks appropriately.

Monitoring:
  • Develop and execute an M&E system for each program, promoting data collection and tracking progress across key performance indicators.
  • Regularly analyze backend application data to identify Chimple app usage trends in the field, pinpoint usage hotspots, and highlight user groups requiring additional assistance.
  • Engage with school authorities and the Education Department in various locations to organically enhance program implementation, gather qualitative insights, suggest improvements for the Chimple product, and relay feedback to product development and relevant teams.
  • Desired Skills:
1. 4 to 6 years of managerial experience in the education/development sector with a proven track record of success

  • Demonstrated expertise in program design and managing field operation teams
  • Exceptional communication, project management, and M&E abilities
  • Capability to establish and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government entities and funders
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Proficiency in spoken Hindi
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Preferably a management/Public Policy degree
  • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Proficiency in program design, implementation, and management
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; fluency in English and Hindi is advantageous
  • Experience interacting with schools or government departments
