Job Title: Software Engineer - Big Data

  • This role is part of a dynamic team focused on developing top-notch large scale Big Data infrastructures.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a solid grasp of programming concepts, hands-on experience in Java, Python or similar languages, and anticipate dedicating the majority of their time to coding tasks.

Location: Bangalore and Hyderabad

Experience: 5 Years

Mandatory Skills:

  • Python or Java
Spark, SQL, Snowflake, Hadoop (optional), Airflow, Data structures and algorithms

  • GCP cloud knowledge including Google Storage, Google Dataproc, Google Pub Sub, Google BigQuery
  • Proficient coder with expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++ or Scala.
  • Thorough understanding of programming principles and development best practices like version control, unit testing, code deployment.
  • Self-motivated to quickly grasp new technologies and translate them into large-scale engineering projects.
  • Extensive background in Application development and support, integration development, and data management.
  • Alignment with key Client goals.
  • Regular interaction with clients from leading Fortune 500 companies to comprehend strategic needs.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest technologies to ensure maximum ROI for clients.
  • Hands-on coder with a strong grasp of enterprise-level coding.
  • Designing and implementing APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns to solve complex distributed computing challenges.
  • Experience in defining technical requirements, data extraction, transformation, job automation, job productionization, and exploring new big data technologies within a Parallel Processing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Significant work experience over several years and a background in Computer Science or a related technical field is mandatory.
  • Experience in both functional and object-oriented programming, with proficiency in Python or Scala being essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in Spark, Hadoop & GCS Stack.
  • Knowledge of Vertica, Snowflake, Druid is advantageous.
  • Experience in development and support within the Big Data domain.
  • Proficiency in agile methodology.
  • Background in database modeling and development, data mining, and warehousing.
  • Experience in architecting and delivering Enterprise-scale applications and adept at developing frameworks, design patterns, etc.
  • Ability to understand and address technical challenges, propose holistic solutions, and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience working with extensive, complex datasets from various sources.
