Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop breakfast menus featuring a selection of traditional North Indian dishes, including parathas, puris, poha, upma, chole bhature, dosas, idlis, and other regional specialties.
  • Prepare and cook breakfast dishes according to authentic North Indian recipes, using traditional cooking techniques and fresh, highquality ingredients.
  • Coordinate breakfast service with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders and maintain a smooth flow of service during peak breakfast hours.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, adhering to established recipes and plating standards to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.
  • Set up breakfast buffet stations with a variety of North Indian breakfast items, ensuring that all food items are properly labeled, displayed attractively, and replenished as needed throughout service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the breakfast kitchen area, including work surfaces, equipment, and utensils, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in inventory management tasks, such as ordering supplies, rotating stock, and minimizing food waste to control costs and maximize profitability.
  • Train and supervise kitchen assistants or line cooks assigned to breakfast service, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the executive chef or sous chef to develop new North Indian breakfast menu items, specials, and promotions that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary creativity.
  • Stay updated on current food trends, nutritional guidelines, and industry best practices related to North Indian cuisine, incorporating them into menu development and kitchen operations as appropriate.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest feedback and complaints regarding breakfast service, taking corrective action as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management or hotel/restaurant management to support the overall success of the breakfast operation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a chef specializing in North Indian cuisine, with a focus on breakfast cooking techniques and recipes.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of North Indian breakfast dishes, including parathas, dosas, idlis, and regional specialties.
  • Creativity and innovation in menu development, with the ability to create new and exciting North Indian breakfast dishes while respecting traditional culinary heritage.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise kitchen staff to deliver exceptional breakfast service.
  • Formal culinary training or certification from a recognized culinary institute is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the demands of breakfast service.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and delighting guests with delicious and authentic North Indian breakfast options.
