The position of Senior Associate Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance Engineer revolves around collaborating with all major systems in a facility, like electrical and HVAC systems, and conducting regular maintenance on these systems. This role contributes to the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and other infrastructure systems in critical data center environments with medium complexity.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the design, planning, installation, and maintenance of various infrastructure systems in high-risk environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.
  • Gaining hands-on experience with major facility systems and conducting regular maintenance.
  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of critical facility components affected by infrastructure system failures.
  • Analyzing current operating conditions and proposing new methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems.
  • Enhancing maintenance procedures to optimize operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
  • Participating in the installation of new facility systems and coordinating with building administration.
  • Engaging in system repair, monitoring, troubleshooting activities, and overseeing client services.
  • Managing client feedback and ensuring prompt corrective actions.
  • Overseeing facility assets, completing work orders, and ordering maintenance supplies.
  • Supervising vendors and subcontractors, suggesting operational improvements, and performing other engineering activities as needed.

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and sensitive facility components.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of critical facilities operations, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, maintain professional relationships, and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated analytical and time management skills, with a proactive and service-oriented approach.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and utilize professional concepts.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Trade Certification or state license in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC)
  • Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.)

Experience required:

  • Moderate-level experience in a similar engineering role, particularly in a data center environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or technical engineering
  • Hands-on experience interpreting blueprints, building maintenance, and infrastructure systems.
