Job Opportunity: Head of Media Relations

Location: Mumbai, India

Company Overview: Our client is a renowned leader in the FMCG sector, known for its innovative products and strong market presence. They are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Media Relations to join their team and enhance their brand visibility and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, journalists, and influencers.
  • Manage all media communications, including press releases, media kits, and press conferences.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, representing the brand in all media interactions.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to inform strategic communications decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, public relations, and senior management, to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Handle crisis communication and manage the company's response to media inquiries during critical situations.
  • Oversee media training for key executives and spokespersons.
  • Track and analyze media coverage metrics to measure the effectiveness of media relations efforts.
  • Organize and manage media events, product launches, and other public relations activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior media relations role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong network of media contacts and a deep understanding of the media landscape.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in crisis communication and media training is a plus.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and PR tools.
