What you will do as our new Database Administrator:

  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
  • Install, Configure, and maintain database servers and processes, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Configure, tune (performance/cost) and manage Azure SQL DBs and storage accounts
  • Develop monitoring tools to achieve better visibility of the DB systems
  • Proactively improve DB processes
  • Deployment code review and suggest performance enhancements
  • Setup/monitoring/fixing/analyzing/troubleshooting AlwaysOn/clusters
  • Experience working on SQL Server including SSIS / SSRS / SSAS

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities including off hours.
  • Performance monitoring

What you need to succeed in that role:

  • 7+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
  • PowerShell knowledge for process automation
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Azure SQL experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft OLAP architectures
  • Experience with Clustering
  • Web Application architecture fundamentals
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server e.g. Always ON troubleshooting
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationFlexible, team player, "getitdone" personality
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and contextswitch effectively between different activities, teams and geographic office (North America, Europe, Australia, Asia) MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
  • Azure components knowledge as Logic apps, elastic jobs, analytics etc.
  • Excellent T-SQL knowledge
  • Passion for technology and problem solving
  • Ability to function under pressure
